本次大会是四川外语教育界在新世纪进行的一次学术交流的盛会,是四川外语教学界为适应我国外语教学发展新要求,应对国际竞争和挑战,扩大国际交流而实施的一项重要举措,开创了四川外语教育发展的新纪元,为使四川外语教学真正走向全国,走向世界奠定坚实的基础。
本次年会加强和改进了四川省高校外语教学工作的宏观指导和管理,充分发挥高等学校外语教学研究专业委员会的研究、咨询和指导作用,这对进一步深化四川外语教学改革,推动外语教学理论和教学法的研究,加强外语教学工作的常规督导和检查,全面提高外语教学质量具有促进作用。各高校要充分认识大学英语教学改革的重要性和紧迫性,在人才的激烈竞争中,只有实行外语教学改革、提升外语教学质量、跨学科构建外语教师的知识结构,高校外语教学改革才能实现新突破,才能增强学生的社会适应能力、竞争能力、创新及实践能力。才能进一步转变观念,适应多元化需求;以社会需求为导向,分层分类培养人才;以能力培养为核心;以教学工作为中心,加强教学研究。
这次会议既有著名英语教学专家的精彩讲座,又有一线教师的教学经验交流;既有具体的现场示范课展示,又有教学培训专家和教材编者对教材和教学深入浅出的剖析,此次会议加深了一线教师和教研人员对英语课程标准及教材教学的理解,从认识和操作层面都将有力地促进外语教学水平。
2010 Sichuan Tertiary Foreign Language Education Association Annual Meeting (STFLEA)is a significant event on academic exchange in the new century for Sichuan foreign language teaching field. It meets the new requirements on foreign language development; faces the international competitions and challenges, is an important initiative in expanding international exchanges; opens a new era of educational development on foreign language teaching in Sichuan; lays a solid foundation for Sichuan foreign language teaching matching to national and international.
Annual meeting strengthens and facilitates the work of the Sichuan Foreign Language Teaching in the macro guidance and management, gives full play to the researching, advisory and guiding role of the Committee of College Foreign Language Teaching and Research; which further deepens the reform of foreign language teaching in Sichuan, promotes foreign language teaching theory and pedagogical research, strengthens foreign language teaching in general supervision and inspection, and comprehensively improves the quality of foreign language teaching. All colleges and universities ought to fully understand the importance and urgency of reforming college English teaching; in the fierce competition of human resources, only by means of implementing of foreign language teaching reform, improving the quality of foreign language teaching, and building an interdisciplinary knowledge structure for foreign language teachers, can college foreign language teaching reform achieve new breakthrough, enhance the students social adaptability, competitiveness, innovation and practical ability; further change the concept in meeting diverse needs; transform the personnel training based on the classification of capacity and community-oriented needs; and set the core on teaching as well as strengthening teaching and research.
This meeting not only includes the wonderful speeches and lectures from renowned experts in English teaching as well as first-handed experience exchange among teachers; both the specific demonstration of classes display, and in-depth analysis on textbooks and teaching from training experts and editors of textbook. The meeting deepens the understanding of teachers and researchers on the standards of curriculum and teaching materials, effectively promoting foreign language teaching leveloncognitive and operational aspects.
